About

Founded by people who counted the stock themselves

Stockmere exists because reconciliation spreadsheets are where operational truth goes to die. We build the ledger we wished we'd had.

The founding story

Stockmere started in 2019. Our founding team had spent the previous decade running supply chain and warehouse operations for mid-market distributors: the size of company big enough to have six warehouses and real auditors, and too small to spend two years on a tier-one WMS program. Every one of those companies had the same artifact, a reconciliation spreadsheet maintained nightly by someone senior enough to know it was wrong.

The insight that became the product is a boring one. Inventory systems fail because they store positions and discard movements. If the system of record is an append-only ledger of every receipt, pick, transfer, and adjustment, each attributed, typed, and reason-coded, then positions are just arithmetic, variances are visible the day they occur, and the audit trail falls out of the architecture instead of being bolted onto it.

We shipped the first version to a single three-warehouse distributor and rebuilt the count scheduler twice before it earned the floor team's trust. Today Stockmere runs inventory for more than 120 operations teams across retail, industrial distribution, and light manufacturing, and the founding rule hasn't changed: nothing ships until it survives contact with a real warehouse floor.

Mission

Make the physical inventory of a company and its recorded inventory the same thing, so that operations teams plan from facts, finance closes without fear, and nobody's career depends on a spreadsheet only they understand.

What we believe

The floor is the truth

If the software and the shelf disagree, the shelf wins. We design for the person holding the scanner first, because their data is everyone else's foundation.

Never smooth a variance

Systems that quietly "fix" discrepancies teach organisations to stop looking. We surface variances loudly and make every correction attributable.

Honest numbers, honest product

Forecasts ship with error ranges. Tier limits are soft. If a prospect isn't a fit, we say so in the first call rather than the fourth.

Boring reliability is a feature

Warehouses run at 6 a.m. on statutory holidays. We optimise for uptime, migration safety, and predictable behaviour over novelty.

How the team is built

We publish roles rather than headshots. The team changes; the shape of it doesn't.

  • Chief Executive Officer. A former VP of supply chain who ran a nine-site distribution network and still visits two customer warehouses a month.
  • Chief Technology Officer. Spent a career building transaction ledgers for payments infrastructure before pointing the same discipline at stock movements.
  • VP Engineering. Leads three product groups (ledger & sync, planning, floor apps) plus platform and security teams; roughly half the company is engineering.
  • VP Customer Operations. Owns implementation and support; every implementation lead has worked in a warehouse rather than only sold to one.
  • Head of Security & Compliance. Runs the SOC 2 program, regional data-residency posture, and the customer security-review queue.

Where we are

Stockmere is a remote company, with engineering across North American and European time zones, which is also why the support rota can follow the sun. Reach us at info@stockmere.help.

About this site

Stockmere is a fictional demonstration property operated by Appear. No product, customer, or metric on this site is real. It exists to study how search engines, AI crawlers, and browsing agents read a conventional B2B marketing site: what they retain, what they repeat, and what they miss. Every company, person, figure, and testimonial here was written for that purpose. Nothing on this site is a claim about a real product, and no customer named on it exists.
