FAQ

The questions every serious buyer asks

Straight answers on implementation, migration, security, SLAs, and contracts. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

How long does implementation take?

Most mid-market deployments go live in 8–12 weeks. We start with a pilot warehouse in weeks 1–4 (data migration, location mapping, count baseline), validate reconciliation against your existing system in parallel for two weeks, then roll out remaining sites in waves. Enterprise programs with 15+ sites typically phase over one to two quarters. You get a named implementation lead and a written cutover plan for every site.

How do you migrate our existing inventory data?

We import items, locations, lots, and on-hand balances from CSV or direct database extracts, then run a supervised baseline count on a sampling plan before go-live so opening balances are verified rather than assumed. Historical movements can be imported for reporting continuity. Your legacy system stays read-available throughout, so cutover is a switch rather than a leap.

What does Stockmere integrate with?

Stockmere connects to your ERP, storefronts, warehouse hardware, and 3PL stack through a documented REST API, webhooks, and scheduled flat-file exchange for partners that require it. Integrations are configured per connection with field-level mapping, replay on failure, and a visible sync log for every connection.

What is your security posture?

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access is role-based with SSO/SAML on Growth and above, and every read of sensitive records is logged. We undergo an annual independent SOC 2 Type II audit, run a private bug-bounty program, and publish a security overview and subprocessor list on request. Production access by our staff is time-boxed and audited.

What SLAs do you offer?

The standard platform SLA is 99.9% monthly availability with service credits. Enterprise plans carry a 99.95% SLA, a defined incident-response matrix (15-minute acknowledgement for severity 1), and a named technical account manager. Status and incident history are published on a public status page.

Where is our data stored? Do you support data residency?

Customer data is stored in your choice of region (Canada, the United States, or the European Union) and stays there, including backups. Cross-region replication is opt-in. Data processing agreements and regional subprocessor lists are available for each region.

How does the reconciliation engine actually work?

Every stock movement posts to an append-only ledger. The reconciliation engine continuously compares ledger balances against source systems and physical counts, flags variances outside your tolerance bands, and opens a variance case with the movement history attached. Nothing is silently corrected: every adjustment is a typed, attributed transaction with a reason code.

What data does forecasting need, and when does it get useful?

Forecasting trains on your order history, imported at onboarding, so you don't start cold. With 12 months of history it produces usable weekly forecasts per SKU-location, with seasonality and trend decomposition; 24 months materially improves seasonal categories. Every forecast shows its error range, and you can override any number with a reason that's kept for later accuracy review.

Does Stockmere work with our barcode scanners and warehouse hardware?

Yes. The floor apps run in the browser on standard Android and iOS scanning devices and accept keyboard-wedge input from tethered scanners, so existing hardware almost always works as-is. Label printing uses standard ZPL-compatible printers. There is no proprietary hardware to buy.

How do roles and permissions work?

Permissions are granular by action and by site: a branch supervisor can approve adjustments at their own branch but only view others; a controller can close count periods everywhere but never edit movements. Roles are templates you can copy and adjust, changes to roles are themselves audit-logged, and quarterly access reviews can be exported for your auditors.

What are the contract terms?

Plans are annual by default, billed monthly or annually (annual billing carries the listed discount). Tier limits are soft: we alert you at 80% and never cut you off mid-operations, and sustained overage triggers a plan conversation rather than a surprise invoice. There are no per-seat fees for warehouse floor staff on any tier.

What support is included?

Every plan includes support from operations-literate humans, with median first response under 4 business hours on Core, under 1 hour on Growth, and 24/7 for severity-1 issues on Scale and Enterprise. Implementation weeks include scheduled working sessions, and every customer gets access to the documentation, API reference, and training library.
